To much water
It has rained here so much since Sunday that my child cannot ride the cart across the yard without making ruts!

Re: To much water
We're glad to get some rain during our "dry" season! Yes, it's inconvenient, but infinitely preferable to forest fires!

Re: To much water
All it's done here is rain, rain, rain, since last night. Much more and I'm gonna have to get my one man boat out to get across the yard.

Re: To much water
We have had our share for awhile now. Last year we were 14" or so above normal. Our yard has been wet for weeks it seems. More is predicted for this Sunday.

Re: To much water
I'll trade ya. We had such a dry year our lawns and hedges are dying out. Fire danger is high and dust - everywhere. And this is our rainy season!

Re: To much water
Look out fellas.....two solid days of rain in one place, lawns and hedges dying in another.......must be climate change....we are all dooommmmbed.....doooommmmbed ya hear.....Lord give me strength
At lease down here, we had some on write a poem about over 100 years ago it to remind us that its nothing unusual. I love a sunburnt country, and land of sweeping plains, of ragged mountain ranges, OF DROUGHTS AND FLOODING RAINS. cheers |

Re: To much water
The publican at the Mt Dare Hotel, posted a couple of days ago....with thermometer pictures...that it was 50C ( that is a 112F) under his verandah and 38C (104F) in the bar, with the be large donkey evaporative cooler running flat out.
AND the humidity was 10%. Mt Dare is one of our most remote bars, at the northern end of the Birdsville track.....The closest pub to the simpson desert on the north east side. The publican at Mt Dare, is who you call to drag your sorry *** out of the desert when you break down. We had the 30 year floods a couple of years back here....more than 2/3 of the state of QLD was under water at some time or another. cheers |
