Default Star Car Golf Cart? Identify this please

Helping a friend find a cart, we found this - which I assumed was a Medalist with a painted bumper - but from the look of head on shot I am lost... post calls it a 'star car' - anyone know what this is or can tell me more?

Thanks!

its an EZGO TXT, with some sort of aftermarket front piece that has the lights on it.

It's a TXT, but the front clip looks kinda like the "GP Commander" that I've seen. (Without the seven-slot grill cut out)

A few years ago Star carts were EZGO clones, made in china. The local dealer here was up front about it and the carts had a Star emblem on the front so you could tell it wasn't an EZGO. Star is still in business and the carts still resemble EZGOs but they have changed the styling enough to make them recognizable for what they are.

Because this one is advertised as a Star, I would assume it really is although the front cap is different than all the ones I have seen. The hip restraints are different than a TXT and this is a giveaway for me in the event someone was trying to pass this off as a TXT.

If it were me, I would stay with the big 3: EZGO, Club Car or Yamaha.

Kernal is correct, cart is not an EZGO.

I saw another one advertised recently.

Go to starev.com and they have a full lineup of carts including a 48v A/C cart with an aluminum chassis (they spelled it as "chassus" lol) that they claim will go 60 miles on a charge (it comes with eight 6V batteries).

But I agree, unless you have a really good dealer close by, I'd stick with the big three.

Its an early Star. The new ones have 8 six volts and will run forever. This one may have 8 6's as well. Nothing to be afraid of, they are based off ezgo and most ezgo stuff will work.

The 60 mile range on the new AC stars probably isn't far off. The things will drive forever

Stay away from chinese junk! We used to be a star dealer, the day our last star left was one of my happiest days at at this job. The AC star has a good motor and controller, the suspension, axle, steering, pedal assembly, wiring, and pretty much everything else was junk. I hate to say it, but i got pretty good at fixing those things (i got a lot of "oppertunities" to work on them).
