Default Sport Windshield - Functional?

I run the cart topless year round - I keep safety goggles in a cup holder for bug avoidance in summer, and to reduce eye watering in the cold months. I've considered installing a sport windshield, but question if they really do anything other than modify the look of the cart. The top of the windshield would be way below eye level, so I'm curious if anyone with this type of windshield has found any "functional" benefits. (Especially for the issues I mentioned)

My eyes water even in hot months when I remove my windshield. You just gotta drive fast enough. Bugs also are a problem.

Not thinking golf cart speed justifies wind tunnel testing to know if a short windshield would pass the air over your head. Guessing it would not.

No functional benefits for bugs and wind in your eyes, just for looks

Mine doesn't do much more than protect my body from any on-coming wind. Even then, it has to be the wind because 20 mph doesn't generate enough to be concerned about.
That said, if I had to, I could hunker down behind it and get some protection.

I ride motorcycles. You don't know facial pain until you have experienced similar occurrences at 60 mph.
Which brings up an interesting point. I look over the top of that windshield too.

I made the mistake of forgetting my gloves on a bike in the rain. Felt like needles.
