Default 42 volt battery gage/meter ???

Have a 42 volt ezgo western cart.

I want to install one of those rectangular type led bar meters in the dash.

I can not find a 42 volt red led type meter. I only see 36 volt and 48 volt ones.

Can someone tell me what they do in this case? It seems like a 36 or 48 volt would not be accurate on a 42 volt system.

This cart is all stock, with seven 6 volt batteries.

Please help?

Thanks

If it was for my cart I would go for the digital type. However this is for an elderly person that just drives to the dog park, and just wants to see the colored bar graph.
It is easiest for her.

So does anyone have any info regarding a bar graph meter that will work on a 42 volt western?

maybe you could use an analog 48 volt gague with a resistor in line. I'm not sure what size you might need though

Hook the 36v meter to only 6 of the 7 batteries. Make sure to include the 2 with lights on them.

Now there is something I would have never thought of? Do you think it would be fairly accurate?

That will be adequate for an elderly person that just wants a general idea of battery life. All batteries in series charge and discharge at the same rate if they are the same size and age batteries. If you have to have a bar type then that's the best way to go.
