Re: 98 electric ezgo sluggish up hills
Connections are tight, and the cables were put on by my the golf course guy, so they must be the right sive. I can say that the new cables on the batteries are about the same size as the ones attached to the controller. Please tell me what to measure, just a single mom who loves to golf, and needs her cart. Thanks

Re: 98 electric ezgo sluggish up hills
No way to measure all gauges of wires can have different size of insulation making some wire look/measure bigger than it is.
I think the biggest thing we need to know is what is your battery pack voltage and each battery read 12 hours after you have unplugged the charger. Once we know that some of the trouble shooting can begin. If you don't have access to a digital voltage meter I would recommend you get one or find someone that has one and can help, they are the most important tool to have when you have an electric cart. |

Re: 98 electric ezgo sluggish up hills
OK, I left it unplugged for 14 hours and get a battery pack voltage of 35.8 and each battery ranges from 5.8 to 6. Thanks

Re: 98 electric ezgo sluggish up hills
That's not good! Did the charger shut off on its own before you unplugged it? You might have a problem with your charger but those batteries are only about 40% and yes that would cause it to be very sluggish on hills.

The charger had shut off by itself.

Its not reaching a full charge. If you can post a picture of it there are others on here that can help you diagnose the problem with the charger. I would recommend you stop driving the cart until you can get a full charge as you could damage your batteries.

Thanks. I will post a picture. I just ran up and plugged in with a different charger.

Re: 98 electric ezgo sluggish up hills
OK, I got my battery pack voltage up to 39 with another charger. Great but now the wire running from the controller to the motor which I think controls reverse has a burning smell at the controller connection and causes a beep as if it is in reverse. Does this mean that the connection is not being made between controller and motor here? Thanks.

Re: 98 electric ezgo sluggish up hills
If I got the voltage that high, could the batteries still be shot?
