Default Loud pop in rear end now no go!

2000 Ezgo txt
High torque motor, 48 vlt
Was driving some rough terrain and hauling alot of weight. Tried to pull out of a ditch and snap, no go! Pulled on trailer and hauled home. Thought I just stripped a hub as it is very common on this cart. Well I pulled off both hubs and that is not the problem. What is another common breaking point to look for?

Pull the axles and see if one broke...

I would hope not, I just put new shafts in the fall to try and help cure the hubs wearing out.

If that's the case I hope I didn't chunk the old ones.

Drop the differential cover and have a look. It could be a spider gear or the carrier.

Well figured out what happened, broke the axle shaft right behind the bearing. Easy fix. It was a relatively new shaft too.
