Default Rebuild EZ-GO burnt to the ground

I live in a retirement community and went to a friends 81st birthday party. Then two days later we seen each other at the men’s Golf League and seen he drove his car. He told me his golf cart caught on fire and I went over to look and you cannot lift the cart from the ground because everything melted it to the concrete.

Has anyone used a frame from a cart that burnt? Is there any concern with using a frame that was hot like that? He is 81, did not know about golf cart insurance and simply can not afford a new cart. I was going to try and help him out.

I wouldn't trust it not to bend. I bet it's so soft and warped right now.

Seems like you should be able to find an old cart cheap around Phoenix ?

I do not think there is any way you can rebuild a burned cart from the frame up cheaper than you can buy one.

Agreed, not unless you have a parts donor cart, but then why not just fix up the parts cart.

I have not been home yet to get the pictures but thought I would reply now that I am checking (still no e-mail). I had just attended this gentleman’s 82nd birthday a week before this happened and I Golf with him every Sunday at a minimum sometimes more. When I asked if he had insurance on his golf cart he said “Oh hell no, I cannot afford that!” We all looked at each other at the bar and after we all discussed it we all had insurance and nobody pays more than $40/yr and he said oh well I guess I should have. I felt bad for him and said maybe you could rebuild yours (I had not seen it yet) and he got all excited.
