First time golf cart owner needs advice
First of all, thank you for reading my first post, I really appreciate any advice or help that you can provided. Little back ground, I recently purchased a 2000 Club Car DS that is bone stock with brand new batteries. My primary use of the cart is golfing 2-3 times per week and taking the kid to get ice cream.
I'm pretty obsessed with the golf cart and would really like to "bling" it out. My main goal would be to level or lift (no more than 3 inches) to accommodate 10" to 12" rims with turf tires or all-terrain, to still be able to use it on the golf course. Additionally, what would need to be done to add more speed and torque which it lacks due to my local golf course having multiple elevation changes? Like I said above, this is my first post and I truly appreciate the advice. Also pictures of your club car DS would be much appreciated for references. Thanks! |

Re: First time golf cart owner needs advice
Chapstick11,
Welcome to the Forum, and congrats on your Club Car DS, probably my favorite Golf Car design. There are several options, and probably as many opinions as options available. I suggest an All-Sports 3 or 4" lift, that should accommodate your tire and wheel upgrade. Check out Revolution Golf Cars website, and or give David a call for parts and support. The quickest and cheapest power upgrade would be a Club Car "Private Code" Software upgrade. That can be done by any Club Car shop, I think it costs about $100. Search the forum here for Private codes and you will get more info. Aflyer Edit, Private code upgrade should give you about 18MPH. |

Re: First time golf cart owner needs advice
Everything Aflyer said with one notation. If that is a Series cart (FNR Lever and not a Fwd/Rev Rocker switch) there is no speed code for that model cart. A simple motor replacement on a Series will give you what you want. Revolution will have what ever you want https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/motors and need and with the best customer service you can find. Call David and speak to him. 706-431-3917

Re: First time golf cart owner needs advice
Awesome, thank you both for the responses. Do i have to lift my cart to fit a 10 or 12 in wheel and tire combo? Would a front end 1 inch block lift suffice?

Re: First time golf cart owner needs advice
It is the tire height more than the wheel size.

Re: First time golf cart owner needs advice
That is about 18-3/4" tall and 8.5" wide. The height would be fine, just not sure of the width rubbing.... I do not remember how wide the stock tires are but its got to be close to 8".
