Where are you buying Nissan leaf cells?
I want to go with the leaf cells and build my own pack but wanted to get a feel for who you all are buying them from? Tech Direct on ebay has lots of bad reviews for lower than advertised capacity. They say the cells are at 60% and some have tested them at 35% and less. Do any of you have a better place to buy the cells, bars, BMS etc?

Re: Where are you buying Nissan leaf cells?
That is where I bought mine and I had no issues although the price is higher now than it was last year.
There are 1513 positive reviews and 19 bad ones (a little over 0.1% bad) during the last 12 months. You will also notice a lot of the negative reviews are from the same person or folks that either did not use a BMS or did not wire it correctly. These cells are not for a plug-and-play system, You do need to do your homework to wire a safe system. They do however provide an excellent discharge rate and You can build a 50AH complete system including charger for around $1,000 or double the cells for 100AH for around $1,700. GreenTechAuto is another option but they seem to only have G1 cells now. |

Re: Where are you buying Nissan leaf cells?
I have also found the 60v chevy volt packs for a good price. Should be ok with the right components. BMS can hook to the factory wiring harness wires, but I don't know much about them. I follow the leaf builds and they are not too bad. Getting the throttle pedal lined out now. My shell of a cart has the old v-glide throttle. Looking at a replacement throttle pedal assem for 0-5v hall effect. I have a SRX-48500 that I can program, 400a solenoids, and f/r switching already. Solid welding cable that I had stashed away 1/0 and 2/0.

Bought mine from TechDirect. The BMS and mounting is a little more challenging on the Volt batteries. It will be cheaper and easier to follow Sergio's Leaf battery instruction.
