Default 85 DS restore/modify

First off thanks to this board and all the experienced contributors to it. This is my first cart and I spent a lot of time reading every "sticky", and most active threads. It has been a ton of fun working on this project and I learned a bunch. As I read somewhere on here, no project is ever done or complete, and so it is with this cart. But the check book is gasping for air and the warden is starting to question my sanity so we have reached a stopping point. One item I do need, found one time but failed to bookmark, is material for fender flairs. You can see they are missing, one when i got the cart the other I removed just to balance things.

Starting point: a stock '85 36v resistor cart that someone had painted in the past.

Things added/done:
3" jakes spindle lift kit. while at it replaced every bushing and sleeve along with A plates in suspension.
throttle conversion, HD solenoid, FNR switch, 400amp controller, 4ga cables all courtesy of Scottyb
wire brushed exposed frame and roof supports and replaced nearly all nuts, bolts and washers so all was new and clean
added LED ground effect lighting
added 48v to 12v converter for lights
20x10x10 tires on Viking rims
painted body. full discloseure i had never painted before but with a $16 HVLP sprayer from Harbor frieght it came out pretty decent, not perfect but not bad.

Now as a 48v solid state cart it runs about 15mph but has a heck of a lot of torque and will spin the tires. Did not measure speed as 36v resistor cart but it was not much an hills would kick it's butt.

Nice looking cart. It is a blast building these things. I'm almost done with mine too. Probably Thursday. I am thrilled with it but you are right. The credit card is smoking.

Yes. Admittedly concrete in garage is smoother than your average street but dry pavement nonetheless. In fact it has such a takeoff if floored I have come to fear it may cause some damage. Will not get to try it on hills till this weekend but anticipate it will do fine.
And thanks to all for the complements. When the check book recovers there are more goodies I would like to add. These things are addicting...
