I have no idea which drive system it has. I have to get it going, I am sure I will be posting some questions after reading through post and sticky's.

It is 36v. Other than that I am new to the cart world, but already hooked.

Scotty posted the drive system identifier chart, guess you missed it. Here is is full size. You will need to know what you have in order to fix it.

The batteries seem to have a slight charge, but the charger won't click on. It has been sitting for a year.

I checked the voltage, 24v where the wire s go to the charger. Father-inlaw said he plugged the charger into a friends cart and would charge.

What charger do you have? Most 36V golf cart chargers won't turn on unless the pack voltage is above 28V or so.

You can charge the 6V batteries two at a time with a 12V charger. The cables do not have to be disconnected.
See attached drawing.

BTW: The PDS is a nice drive system.

JohnnieB, I have the Powerwise charger. I tried charging as you suggested, but the batteries started to sizzel. I unplugged the 12v charger immediately, I had the charger set to 10amps. I am going to try again with the charger set at 2 amps.

Bull203, thanks for the offer. I will take you up on your offfer. I am in Bay St Louis, MS. Louisiana transplant.

Sizzling or bubbling? The are definitely going to bubble (Gas) a lot if they have been setting for a year.
Odds are they are boat anchors after sitting that long.

A Powerwise 28115 is a decent charger, but if you ever have to replace it, get a DPI Accusense charger.

Here is a manual for the PW charger and you can find the manuals for your cart in the stickies.

They are the three PDF files near top of the sticky linked to.
