Question EZ-GO Txt 48v with AXE - No solenoid Click - New Solenoid

EZ-GO Txt 48v with AXE controller - Replaced the solenoid - No solenoid Click

Bought a heavy duty solenoid from club car .. Used diode and resistor, can't get it to do anything. I checked the micro inside the ITS box and checked continuity and seems to be fine.

One thing I noticed was the battery meter would light up when the cart was in F or R and now the battery indicator won't light up at all. Also the green lights were working on the controller and after a few minutes the battery indicator light faded out and went off.

Also the controller LED will not illuminate at all, key on, forward or reverse and the controller won't light.

Checked fuses and checkes wires.

Maybe it doesn't like this solenoid? It had a Rodgers on it, but now it has heavy duty 48v club car solenoid part# 1168
Any help is appreciated.. Here are a few photos...

A picture tells a 1000 words Nothing wrong with that type solenoid if the voltage rating is correct.
Likely you have lost power to the key-switch - replace the AC wire nuts with DC crimp connectors and if the control LED still does not light up check the F&R micro switch and related connections.

Used the DC crimp connectors .. Still nothing.. Not familiar with ezgo txt.

I checked the key switch for continuity switching from off to on. Continuity test Off no beep, key on beeps. So seems to be fine.. Any ideas?

Check voltage to key.
Then voltage and out.

Problem SOLVED - Tested positive side of the solenoid on the small post and saw ZERO voltage. So I removed the top off f&r and the main power micro switch on the forward / reverse switch..

Then I removed the red positive wire that runs to the charge receptical and ran a jumper wire to the positive lead of the battery turned the key on and put in forward (with the rear jacked off the ground) and solenoid clicking and AXE indicator light working with wheels spinning!! :D

Downside to using it this way is if you forget to unplug your charger and jump in you are taking the charger with you. So just have to be cautious and don't forget it's plugged in.

Hope this helps someone in the future..

Here is a photo showing which wire and you can see the female end of the one I removed that is zip tied. The wire I have my hand on runs straight to the positive battery.

We would have gotten there if you had followed my direction but yes, this is a reed switch bypass. Reed switch failure is a common occurrence resulting in no power to the key switch, when you charge in the future run the charge cord up through the steering wheel before plugging into the cart.
