You could and that would increase the capacity of the batteries you paralleled but unfortunately your cart would roll to a stop when the batteries without parallel back up ran low on amperage.... remember in series the draw is the same on every battery in the pack.

Attached is a chart showing relative run-times for 48V battery packs made up from various 6V and 8V batteries.

The combinations highlighted with a yellow background have a run-time roughly the same as a stock 36V-225AH battery pack.

NO!

More correctly, yes it is possible, but you will soon be replacing all eight batteries due to the adverse effects of imbalanced charging and discharging and there is no need to change the motor since the stock 36V motor will be happy at 48V.

A balanced series/parallel combination using eight 6V batteries would only yield 24V at the highest voltage possible.

I forgive you, but can you tell me if it's contagious through the computer?

Anyhow, you don't have a chart like that showing 8 six volt batteries? Would the weight of two extra batteries make much difference?

2 additional good 6v batteries = 124 pounds. A 6/6v pack weighs 372 pounds. That's a 33% increase in battery weight and about a 10% increase in the carts overall weight. The power to weight ratio is pretty sensitive in the electric cart.
124 pounds will make a difference you can feel from the driver's seat.

That is why the -250 pounds I got with my Lithium batteries is so different! It's actually a bit too light for the suspension. Like a pickup truck with no load in the bed.

Minus 250 pounds - should produce incredible improvement coupled with the Lithium's ability to unload much faster than lead acid. Plus no watering.... I may have to do this one day

You may notice it in the way it rides but don't the batteries make up for the added weight with increased performace?
