Float Mode: The DPI charger has a float*or maintenance mode. When the initial*charge*is complete the charger goes into*float*mode and holds the pack at a slightly elevated state of*charge*for*28*days*at which point it will initiate a recharge cycle and returned to*float*mode. This*28*day*float*and recharge cycle will continue indefinitely. If interrupted by a power outage it will resume*charge*and*float. You can get a DPI from cartsunlimited.net here is a direct link to them, they are a sponsor here. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-chargers.html |

Re: PowerwiseII charger trouble
I took the charger to be fixed. Turns out a diode was bad. 128$ and good to go again.

Re: PowerwiseII charger trouble
$128 to replace a single diode? Ouch.

Re: PowerwiseII charger trouble
Not exactly a single diode.
https://shop.ezgo.com/products/Heats...erwise-II.html The two button type diodes are soldered/welded to copper heatsink with terminals soldered/welded on. See attached picture. My guess is about $50/hr with one hour minimum plus parts. |

Re: PowerwiseII charger trouble
I would have thought the same, except a PW-II came with my cart and I've kicked around the idea of replacing the diode assembly with a 50A bridge to see if it would work. The cheapest PW-II diode assembly I've seen is about $45 while 50A bridges are about $5.
