Tie rod for 96 EZGO txt dcs
The driver side outer tie rod has way too much play in it and Im looking to replace it.
Bought the car about a month ago so unsure as to the past repairs. The current setup has 2 inner and 2 outer tie rods but everything I have found online shows the assembly consisting of 2 outer rods with a central 1 piece inner rod which doesn't look like it will work. Can anyone verify if what i have is stock or changed and Can anyone direct me to the correct outer tie rod replacement? If it can't be purchased separately can I just get any 90 degree angle assembly set as long as it has correct diameter bolt for the hole at the knuckle. THanks! Brad |

All the 1990 drive systems series, dcs, pds were built on the same platform. I have seen slight variations but most everything is interchangeable. Get the length on your rod and go from there.
On the other hand there were about a dozen different lift kits made. |

Re: Tie rod for 96 EZGO txt dcs
Ok thanks.
I'm about to purchase tie rods that states they are for years 65-94. They look the most similar to my 96 out of the ones ive seen. I also noticed I could easily move the tire in and out with clicking noises. After inspecting behind wheel saw the hub was loose on the spindle. Took cap off and tightened the castle nut and reinserted pin. THat fixed that issue but wheel does still rock the outer tie rod only when moved at 9 and 3 on the tire so will continue forward with tie rod replacement. R BRad |

Will do!
Outer tie rod left thread arrives tomorrow and plan on installing then. I have a 10 second clip showing the play in the bearing in case anyone wanted to check theirs also but don't think I can upload it. |

Install was very easy and everything worked perfectly.
Only slight hang ups were getting old tie rod off the spindle. It finally released with combination of hammer the side of the spindle and turning castle nut upside down on threads and hammering straight up. Of course would have been easier if had the special fork tie rod tool. |
