Re: Alltrax Settings
Snuck out for some more testing. Went blasting up and down the mountain in Crazy Larry mode and the voltage has only dropped from 57.9 to 56.4. Each run is 1/2 mile long going down one hill and up another. Probably did 8 runs hitting 24 MPH down and 18 up. Pretty much full throttle the whole way, only lifting long enough to let the gate open and to make a couple very sharp turns. 79F ambient and the battery, cables and controller were all below 84F. The stock AMD motor, on the other hand, was a little warmer at 107F! The last time I did this run flat out like that, I only hit 14MPH down and 8 going up. Oh, and I cooked a cable and battery terminal.

Re: Alltrax Settings
More testing today and tweeking. Absolutely loving the performance and battery life. One thing I am noticing is that the run away detection is very sensitive and the buzzer is sounding between the time I release the brake and go for the throttle. The cart is rolling but ever so slightly.
Anyone know how to reduce the sensitivity? I'm sure it will be on the wife's list of annoyances with this conversion. She's already complained about the cart bucking or surging. Turns out, she is trying to maintain less than full throttle (I know, right?) and her foot is moving up and down. I don't have that problem at all |

Re: Alltrax Settings
You can lower the throttle rate which is how quick the controller adjusts to the new pedal position.
Unless you are drag racing, there is no reason to have the throttle rate too high and deal with the jerk/bucking. The lower throttle rate is also better for the motor as it prevents the motor from drawing more current than it can turn into torque. Setting "turf mode" will also cause the Controller to smooth out the power delivery regardless how aggressive your settings. |

Re: Alltrax Settings
Program a mode for her - biggest advantage there is to the FNKS. My wife too hates the hotrod cart syndrome. She complains "every time I get in one of these things it takes off like a rocket!" Me, Yeah, so what's the problem? Or yeah, isn't that cool!?

Re: Alltrax Settings
the "Hers" mode goes 10 mph slower than everybody else, and stays in the fast/left lane.

Anyway, thank you all again for the help with this project. As soon as I button up a few wires on the voltage converter and find places to mount the factory fuses and run/tow switch, I start looking for my next cart. Anyone know were I can get a Precedent frame with underbody? |
