Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
It may be as simple as the negative wire on the solenoid small post became disconnected, that will cause you to measure "positive" voltage in both small terminals.

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
By B1 you mean B- right?
Can You verify the diode side with the "stripe" is on the solenoid small post with the 2 red wires? Also, are you using Scottyb's new electronic throttle? |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
Okay we are getting somewhere. please answer 1-3
1. Is the controller LED flashing 3 green then going solid green when the pedal is first depressed? 2. If no - Is there 36v + in and out of the F&R microswitch(ms) when the key is on cart is put in gear? 3. Can you move the solenoid (-) wire from J1 black to B- and see if the solenoid engages? |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
Sergio - Yes I meant B-. I tested the diode with meter power only travels 1 way and yes stripe on + side of solenoid.
ScottyB- I have never seen the led on in any color....never. 36v in and out of MS1 with pedal depressed and in gear move J1 to B1 solenoid does engage |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
Hard to tell from your picture, and sorry for the basic question, but since this cart was not Solid state originally, does the black cable on Controller B- go directly to the pack negative battery post?

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
Sorry, but it would appear the Controller is dead since it only needs + power on J1 red and - on B-, and you have both.
You also need to make sure the little black wire on B- is on top of the big lug not under, that will give you better current transfer to the controller. |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
Thanks for your help.
I have been afraid the controller might have gone out. It did move after it was first assembled, but stopped shortly after. Bigbird |
