get a 36v solenoid it would be better to get a club car one

ok so when i get it what small terminal is the power from the switch and what one is the ground?

as long as you use both and don't put them on the same lug your good
same with the large lugs

one should be a ground and one should be hot off the key correct?

Yes

Except some of the older carts that had a negative switch. Regardless, one to each terminal will get you what you need.

i bypassed the gauge and key and presto the solenoid engages...im gonna mess with the power supply wires to the key and see why im only getting 12v

I did not think there was a positive and negative to the key switch. The key is simply a switch that breaks the power running to the solenoid so it will not activate until the key is turned on. So, from 36v+ from the battery bank to the key switch, then from the key switch to the solenoid...or micro switch in the f and r, Don t remember now. If you put + voltage to one side of the key and ground the other side it will just short and burn something when you turn the key on.

Unless I missed some context or something. I think 36v+ to key, key to MC in f and r, then to + side of solenoid. That way the solenoid will only engage when key is on and put in to forward or reverse....i think... :-/
