Default Confirming Temps...

After putting the alltrax xct, 23" tires, 2ga wires on the 2006 DS....I loaded it with 2 grown adults, 2 small children, and a teenager drove around on the street for 30-45 min pulling some moderate hills.

The exterior of the case was showing 170-175 F. (Stock motor). Sound good/bad?

Some people will tell you that's fine, the exterior gets about 25º hotter once you shut them down. I find the hotter they get the quicker the temp goes up.
So you were looking at a 200º case, & hotter on the inside.

What map?

Assuming you have the EJ motor that map will give the best performance but 'best performance' comes with the heat risk because it weakens the field more than safe maps. You might want to try the Unimap-V1 - especially since you are letting a teenage boy drive the cart.... in my experience a 400 pound gorilla is easier on these things.

You need to check the motor model # to confirm that is the correct map. The unimap fits all of the IQ motors. I supply maps for my customers and Alltrax supplies maps for everyone
Shoot me an email requesting the map and give it a try. I would love to know the results on an identical use.

Yes but, you still have a motor designed for 18 inch tires and golf on 23s with added passengers and street hills with a massively bigger controller. The opportunity to over work (over heat) the motor is there.
I would try the unimap in the morning and just see if it runs cooler and if you can live with the trade off.
