It is a lot lighter then the steel one. I am really only going use it for a rack with an ice chest and maybe once a year with a small trailer for hayrides. I did it aluminum because the rear seat is aluminum also and I already had the material.

for work we pull two 4x8 trailers. used a frame mount with a hitch extention. the frame mount will need notched with a cut off wheel and the steep was welded to that. then the extention was put on then welded to the step. have not had one fall off yet.

I decided to make my own hitch. Went to HD and the materials was about $35 and would still need to spend at lest $20 more at HF.

Cheaper to order one online.

I want to do a hitch also for my cart with a seat.

But what about a hitch in the front also? Anyone done a strong one in the front with a lifted cart?

I looked at that awhile back. Question I got is how can it really be universal with no adjustments on it. I'm guessing the step on all the different back seats could be different.
