Thumbs down 1996 txt? Maybe top speed was 14, now 10 help!

I think I have a 1996 txt 36v, it has the advanced fleet speed motor. 18" links tires. Rear seat kit.

IT had a top speed of 13 ish with 2 adults and 2 kids on it(flat road). After bearing problems(axle and Input shaft) and a sticky drum, I can only get a top speed of 10 mph With just me on.

I am hoping for help with getting this how it used to drive.

I am semi mechanically inclined and want to fix this issue, but so far I am running out of ideas.

I am happy to take pics of anything you may need.

I also question the 96 txt because it looks like a medalist front end (based on pics)

Thank you
Keith

Somehow I think it is really a Medalist. I compared a bunch of pics, and it definitely has the rubber bumper of the Medalist. I am not sure if this changes anything.

I believe they switched in 96, so there are probably TXTs and Medalists from that year.

Start with battery testing to determine if the pack is healthy.
Let the cart sit idle for 12-24 hours after a recharge.
Post the pack voltage.
Then attach a voltmeter to the pack and gun the cart up a hill.
Record the lowest voltage reading you see under this load.
If the difference between standing voltage and under load voltage is greater than the equivalent of one battery record the standing voltage of each battery and record the lowest voltage under load for each battery so we can compare.

If it has a metal body, it is a Medalist.
If it has a plastic body, it is a TXT.

Everything except the body is essentially the same.

Post the pack voltage.6.41v 6.41v, 6.39v and the other 3 are 6.44v each.
My mechanic load tested them and said amperage was good.

Then attach a voltmeter to the pack and gun the cart up a hill.
Ground is covered in snow , hard to drive again.

I was told to test voltage going into battery to see if it is the motor, is this correct? If so, How?(
a1/a2? or ???)

Thank you, This settles my confusion on this part.

Is it a series drive or a sepex drive. (If the is a Run/Tow switch on the controller's environmental cover, it is a sepex.)

In either case, remove the environmental cover and measure the voltage between the M- (might be labeled A1) terminal and B+ terminal on the top of the controller.

With the pedal on the floor, the voltage between M- and B+ ought to be the same as what the battery pack voltage drops to going up same hill.

Series cart.

If I read this correctly, m- and b+ are forward drive to the motor? I will be able to look tomorrow again

The MOSFETs that limit the amount of current (amps) that pass through the motor are located between B- and M-.
The motor and direction selector are located between M- and B+.
The direction the armature spins is determined by the direction the current flows through the field (stator) windings relative to the direction of current flow through the armature, which is controlled by the F/R switch.
