2004 EZGO 36v - Make Faster
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and just recently purchased my first golf cart. She's in great shape, however, is a little slower than I would like. I've gotten her to 16mph and would like to get her to 20-24, nothing too crazy. The cart has stock rims and tires.
Any info and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Alos, would like to change the tires and possibly lift, however, I wouldn't want to do so if its going to make the cart slower. What are your thoughts? Thank you, |

First you need to identify what drive system you have. Series or sepex. Go to http://www.cartsunlimited.net/ and there is a chart there to identify it and also a vast amount of info on upgrading your cart.

Re: 2004 EZGO 36v - Make Faster
It appears that I have a series motor... Seems to be a lot of information out there suggesting to convert to 42/48v, but is it really necessary? Would like to keep expense to a minimum and remain 36v if possible.

With a series cart more amperage equals more power and more voltage equals more rpms = a speed increase.

Re: 2004 EZGO 36v - Make Faster
Contender24, can it be done? sure it can....but with a series cart it cost a bit more to get it where you want to go. seeing as you are running stock wheels/tires, I think it would be easy to assume you are going to be using your cart for street use. What is the terrain like on your streets/cart paths? is it fairly flat? hilly? what? it makes a lot of difference as to how to modify your drive system to make it do what you want to achieve.
1.Have you installed an aftermarket controller/solenoid? if so, which one, and what size? 2. Have you upgraded ALL of the high current cables? 3. Are you running the stock motor? |
