A 2002 will have the solid shaft. As long as it hasn't been swapped out with an older motor at some point in it's life, you'll be good to go.

I also have noise coming from motor. If I already have high speed magnet, can I reuse it when installing centering kit?

Not sure you understand the part. The HS magnet is on the NDE and the centering kit installs on the DE at the shaft.

Yes. If you use a bearing puller to remove the bearing it'll pull the magnet off in the process without damaging it.

David is there any good option to help with chatter on the older guide ring motors? I have a few that I've tried various things on, including new guides. The splines on the input shaft are worn just enough that nothing really seems to totally fix them.
Seems like those slide on the input shaft alot further than the solid couplers, you'd think they should have less chance of making noise.

They slide further onto the shaft, but half the output shaft of the motor is nylon vs the all steel shaft of the newer motors. I think what happens is when the nylon wears out and starts to rattle you end up with only a small portion of metal to metal contact. I believe this wears the input shaft of the differential. When that happens, there's really not much else you can do except to replace the input shaft if you can find one, or replace the entire drive unit. I'm glad guide ring motors haven't been made in over 20 years. They were a poor design.

Thanks!
Was kinda hoping someone would have come up with a genius solution for them.
Guess I'll do some more experimenting. I know one thing that will definitely fix the noise but the armature would never come off of the input shaft again.

These old carts we have will eventually be phased out for newer ones. Hard to justify replacing drive units on 20+ year old carts.
