Default 36 volt txt charging problems

when plugging the charger into the cart to charge it arcs as soon as it touches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I believe the cart is a 96 year model.

What is arcing, the charger? And what type of charger is it? If the charger is arcing I believe you need to replace the diodes.

the charger plug arcs the second it touches the receptacle on the cart. Just put a new board in the charger. It is a Powerwise.

It very well could be the diodes, there is a way to test them, I'll see if I can find it, or perhaps an expert can chime in.

Make sure your battery cables are hooked up correctly. I accidentally did my main positive and negative backwards once and it did the exact same thing when plugging the charger in.

I had thought about that and will check it out. I did replace the plug and I guess it is possible I got the wires reversed when I put it back together. It acts like a dead short when trying to plug it in. Thanks very much. I will let you know.

ok, wires were reversed in the plug from the charger. Changed that and it no longer arcs. I guess I shorted the board because it is bad now so hopefully when my new board gets here that will cure my problems. Thanks for the help.
