Speed slower after controller replacement
I have an E-Z-Go electric golf cart I just replaced the controller recently and I had someone rebuild it and mailed it to them and they mailed it back to me and I put it in myself. It used to go really fast like over 30 miles an hour now it goes about the speed of a regular golf cart is it something to do with the controller?

Re: Speed slower after controller replacement
You might get an answer if you supplied the information about the cart that is needed to answer the question.
Body style? Year? Drive type? Tire height? |

Re: Speed slower after controller replacement
It's a 2013 E-Z-Go TXT 48V with four 12V batteries, 14 inch tires with lift kit. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Speed slower after controller replacement
Your cart is a RXV and it's a 2012 or older with a Danaher controller. You probably didn't get back the same controller you sent in.

Quote:
The tires pictured are greater than 14" tall. The rim size is probable 14" and rim size has little to do with tire height. The speed reduction was most likely due to swapping the controller. |

Re: Speed slower after controller replacement
Max speed with the Danaher controller when set to freedom mode 2 is 19.5mph. On 20.5 tall tyres i get exactly 23mph. Probably the rebuild controller came back with a lower speed setting? But wondering, when you say the cart was really fast before ( over 30mph )? What is the secret to go that fast

Re: Speed slower after controller replacement
Yes definitely 30 plus mph. There's a speed kit on it from what I understand. I bought the cart from someone else so I don't know the terminology but it was definitely a lot faster when I bought it and nothing else changed except the controller and it started running slower. I'm wondering if I hooked it up wrong which I doubt or if the controller could be the issue because they didn't send me back the same one rebuilt exactly like the old one? or if when they rebuilt it they didn't do it correctly?

Re: Speed slower after controller replacement
First thing i'd check are the actual speed setting... but you'll need the Danaher Handset and they are rare to find.
Another option would be to ask the rebuild service If the controller you received was set to freedom mode. |
