2002 (48v) Club Car Headlight Wiring
Hi, I'm a newbie to golf carts and this topic has probably been touched on a million times and I apologize up front. But, can I hook up headlights to the second battery under the passenger’s side seat (6-batteries on board 48v) without burning the lights out and not having to install a voltage reducer?
Thanks in advance! |

YES you CAN hook up to ( "2" 8 Volt batterys in series ) BUT your light system is made for 12 Volts NO 16 VOLTS and you will burn out bulbs very soon. Headlight bulbs are the worst in cost and I dont recomemend this course at all? If you go this way be sure you are ONLY getting 16 Volts nor 8 volts which will Not give light power needed.
I use a 12 volt handicap battery ( UB 12350 ) that costs LESS ( $52.00 last check ) than replacement bulbs and or a Reducer-Converter unit and can be mounted in any position as its sealed. If you go the reducer-converter way get a unit ( example BU # ELE UNV 101 $149.99 ) that will give you 20 PLUS AMPS and hooks to full 48 Volt pack. |

Thank you Old Mec... I will take your advice and go with the UB-12350. I'd rather spend the $52 now instead of $52 worth of light bulbs in a month.
Thanks again! |

PROSARIO you never need to apologize, we ALL go through a learning process whenever some thing new comes up. I'm always learning even at my age (76) so whats new? Anytime you learn some thing new just pass it on so others can gain from your learning.
