How do I know how old my Trojan T105's are?
Hello,
Vintage EZ-GO restoration guy here again. I just bought a great $200 cart. With help from you guys I was able to determine it was manufactured in September of 1970. I just hooked up all of the cables to give it a spin around the yard to test everything before I take it apart for cleaning, painting, etc. Luckily the motor and rear axle are very quiet and smooth (very lucky for sure). I have a question about the batteries....how do I determine how old they are? They are Trojan T-105's and look fairly new. Each battery has a D 09 on it's post. Is it possible that means DECEMBER 2009 ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike |

The batteries are worth the purchase price alone....

Re: How do I know how old my Trojan T105's are?
How do you read the date codes on Trojan batteries?
Positive Terminal- Manufacturing Date. This code indicates the actual date when mechanical assembly of the battery was completed. At this point, electrolyte has not been added to the battery and formation charging has not taken place. LETTER stands for the month and could be anything from A to L (A=January, B=February, C=March, and so on),; NUMBER stands for the date. Negative Terminal- Shipping Date. This code indicates the month and year when the battery was shipped out of our factory. LETTER stands for the month (see below); NUMBER is the last digit of the year. Example: A battery with "I26" stamped on the positive terminal and "J2" on the negative. "I26" means that the battery was assembled, without electrolyte, on September 26th. "J2" means that it was shipped from our factory around October of 2002. |

Re: How do I know how old my Trojan T105's are?
Searching old threads to see if I can find info out about how old my batteries are. They are Trojan T-105. Nothing on Positive but C3 on all negatives. Does this mean March 2003 or could it be March 2013?
