Re: Solenoid clicks but cart will not move (sometimes)
I just went out to check it and it was running. Yurtle had similar problems with his cart and said his problem was with the 4 wire Molex plug. So... when the cart was running (up on jacks in garage) I wiggled the 4 wire Molex plug. The cart stopped running. I tried cleaning out the plug and wiggling it again to make it come on, but it will not run.
Since it is not running, I ran the test again. Cart NOT working No resistor (B+) and (B-) with peddle at rest = random voltage. (B+) and (B-) with peddle depressed enough for solenoid to click= Full voltage and green light on Alltrax 4855. Stays full voltage when I put peddle to floor (B-) and (M-) with peddle pressed enough to make solenoid click= full voltage. When the peddle is depressed, THE VOLTAGE STAYS AT FULL VOLTAGE. I replaced the reed switch a week ago. I used the old one I had during the 48v conversion. Have I mentioned yet that I hate working on electrical systems. haha |

Re: Solenoid clicks but cart will not move (sometimes)
I'm gonna cut my plug off and solder and tape the 4 wires. As to the reed switch, they generally just fail, but it is possible they could become intermittent. This is easy to test. Just hook up your DMM negative to pack negative and see if you have pack voltage at the reed switch spade connector.

Re: Solenoid clicks but cart will not move (sometimes)
Yurtle- which negative (does it matter) for the reed test. Should I get full pack voltage 51.1v? I ask because I tested it to a random battery (not the negative leading to solenoid) and the DMM read 36v last night.

You would normally read from pack negative and reed switch is pack positive.

Re: Solenoid clicks but cart will not move (sometimes)
For future reference:
Unless otherwise stipulated, all voltage readings are taken with the DVM negative test lead attached to the battery pack's main negative terminal. |

Re: Solenoid clicks but cart will not move (sometimes)
I checked the reed switch and it read full back voltage. I also eliminated the 4 wire Molex plug by cutting it off and connecting the wires. Still a no go.

Re: Solenoid clicks but cart will not move (sometimes)
It seems he has the control powering up properly and controller reportinging that its reaching full output BUT there is no out put between B- and M-.
Is that what you guys are reading here, post 21? |
