ClubCar48v accelerates like a rocket

Hello,
I have a club car ds, 48 volt, curtis 1205m controller with a dd 10hp motor.
The cart has recently begun accelerating like a rocket. In forward and reverse. The problem was only occassional but now it is all the time and makes for a very jerky ride. I replaced the accelerometer, the solenoid and just recently replaced the controller, briefly today it ran perfectly, then didnt work at all, and now its back to the same jerky rocket cart (only thing i did differently was give it a full charge). I removed and checked the motor lastly and the brushes are in perfect shape. The cart has a mind of its own, it wants to drag race.

Seems like its probably a wire issue to the throttle.
What type of throttle does the cart have?
Is it the old Pie wedge multi-step pot?
