In over my head??!!
In my crappy-weather boredome, i hope i have gone off the deep end. (Much to the belief of my wife)
I descided to remove the body from my 07 PDS, and send it to paint. This part I think I managed fairly well, all the rivits I drilled out, and I managed to save all but three of the push-in plastic style in the bag well.....'Way to go brett" I caught myself thinking.....then it hit me. I had alot of corrosion on my battery terminals, so...why not take care of that? Again, I should have quit why I was ahead, but I am a guy. i removed all the battery connectory and soaked them in baking soda/water, that did the trick. but then I though I might as well remove that batteries and get all the corrosion on the frame too right? Right! I did this and also sprayed them down with the BS/water mix. Then here is where I think I may have gone wrong..... I took my frame out in the driveway and did the BS/water thing to the battery frame, and anything else that I saw with corrosion, then hosed her down with the garden hose. Looked Good!. but as I was pushing it back in the garage, I noticed this grinding/squeaking sound coming from either the rear diff. or the rear right hub...I didn't notice this pushing it outside, but I really can't be certian. I didn't use High pressure, just a garden hose. What the hell did I do fellas??? Also, before I forget, 5 of the batteries seem to have "bulges" on the sides or fronts, is this of any concern? They are 07 trojans as well. Sorry for the long post, but I really don't know what's going on. Thanks! |

Re: In over my head??!!
when you get brakes wet, the shoes swell and squeak or grind. when they dry they may still make noise because the drums rust and will quiet when used as the brake shoes wear the rust offfirst couple uses.
