2006 EZGO rebuild - Duplicolor paint system??
I just picked up a 2006 PDS cart that I am looking to work on and update. I will be removing the body and either paint or just get a new body to replace the current body.
I have been going through numerous threads about painting. I was planning to use a spray gun/pancake compressor to apply the paint. I was interested in the Duplicolor paint system but have read some good and bad? Any additional thoughts on this system or any other paint system combos (primer, paint, clear) that have worked? I probably would take a pass on the rattle cans at this point. Looking forward to posting some pics once I get this project started. Thanks |

Re: 2006 EZGO rebuild - Duplicolor paint system??
If you were painting a car, I would say absolutely do not use Duplicolor.
For a golf cart though, I could see someone using it. Still, base coat/clear coat is the best way to go ,which is what I did my cart with. But to be fair, I have never used Duplicolor. You are a little behind the eight ball though using a pancake compressor. It's not going to put out a lot of air and you may have moisture problems too. But people have gotten good results before with setups like yours. Whatever you do, do not skimp on respiratory and skin protection. Good luck! |

Thanks fireboat,
I think I may have found someone to paint the body for me at a reasonable cost. I think I may go that way? By the time a buy the paint and supplies as you suggested, the cost savings starts to dwindle. |
