Quality Control???
So, I'm cleaning up my battery tray for new batteries (huge amount of corrosion) and I see this. The black wire in the photo is pinched between the OBC module and the mounting frame. It is not going under the mount framework, it is pinched between it and the module. I simply unbolted the module, tucked the wire to the other side, problem solved, not difficult.
Not the greatest quality control. I thought Club Car was of better reputation than this. Must have been made on a friday or monday |

Re: Quality Control???
p.s., anybody know what this unconnected red-wire plug might be for?

Re: Quality Control???
You really don't think anyone else worked on the cart in 10 years?
I doubt seriously it left the factory that way. The connector on the last picture appears to be the fuse holder off the Tow/Run switch. |

Re: Quality Control???
Maybe so, I've had it for 4 years, golf course had it before that. Why would they need to unbolt that module for service tho?
In the second pic I meant that black connector in the circle. It doesn't look like a fuse holder. |

Re: Quality Control???
It looks like the fuse holder, you may want to look at that pinched wire and see if there is any real damage to the wire itself. Over ten years anything can go out including the OBC.

Re: Quality Control???
Unless you are the original owner (you are not) and you are the only one that worked on this cart how can you assume that it came from the factory that way?

Re: Quality Control???
The OBC on my 2009 Precedent came mounted on the other side of the mounting plate from the factory, I remounted mine like yours on the battery compartment side when I added a DCX 500 controller, this made more room and allowed me to attach the controller flat against the mounting plate
Pull the rubber cover off the end of that rubber boot and you will fine a fuse |

Re: Quality Control???
Sorry, you can't tell from the original picture but this is the center mount OBC "console" (if that is the term). The old 4x12v system.
I wasn't aware that these things needed muxed with that often and it all looked "stock" to me, so I thought the pinched wire was installed this way. Otherwise, someone did a careless repair job. I'll check that connector this weekend. I never saw a fuse holder like that before. Here is another pic. And the other side (look at that corrosion!) |
