Removing Motor - '97 Club Car DS 48volt
Have '97 Club Car DS 48 volt - non regen
slight grinding from rear end. Pretty convinced (and hope) it is the guide ring. Quest - Are there any shortcuts to removing the motor without dropping the whole rear end? Looking for shortcuts!! Thanks |

remove the wires, then remove the 4 bolts holding motor to rear. 3 you will need a 7/16" wrench and 1 is a 1/2" IIRC. Slide motor off rear and remove

After you remove battery cables from battery, and then motor. Take a short cable and hook it to two of the motor lugs so you can use it for a handle to wiggle the motor around to get it off. Once bolts are removed remove motor from top. I take basket off so I can get my head in to look.

Re: Removing Motor - '97 Club Car DS 48volt
I always put a triple layer of cardboard on the floor under the motor so if I drop it it won't damage the motor...also putting the nuts back on the stud will protect the threads in case of the same issue...

Make double sure you disconnect one of your battery cables before starting on the motor!
