89 marathon engine type?
I have a ez-go marathon, I need to rebuild the engine for lack of compression/bad crank bearings. I've heard that this is a transition year and the used 2pg and 3pg engines. How do I know what one I have?

3-pg has the spark plug sticking out the top of the engine. 2-pg sticks out the driver's side.

Re: 89 marathon engine type?
The engine is part now. The cylinder has deep groves and the crank bearings are bad and the rod bearing also has a great deal of slop.
