Default 2013 RXV Speaker placement

I just bought a 2013 RXV electric cart. It's being painted and a few accessories put on right now and I'll be able to pick it up in a week or two. I'm planning on doing a stereo myself and need some options of the best place to put the speakers. The cart will be 4 seater with a rear flip seat.

I also have a 2006 TXT and I was able to use some bump out's and put 6x9 under the seat in front of the batteries. It doesn't look like the RXV will have enough room to do this method.

I don't want to put them in the dash because I want to keep the storage. I've seen the speaker pods that go on the floor high up in the corners but I'd like to put at least 6.5" speakers in and the ones I've seen say up to 6".

I searched on here and found a few older threads where people were able to build boxes and place the speakers between the seats. I'm very intrigued by this and wondered if anyone else has done that? Also if I went this route is there room for 6x9 speakers there or at least 6.5" speakers?

I'll be using some sort of amp with bluetooth built in and playing straight from my phone. No dash radio.

I have a 2010 RXV and i put mine in front of batteries. Speakers go on outside so the closeness of the batteries is no problem.

Isn't there only like an inch of clearance between the batteries and the cart body? Did you have to use spacers to get clearance for the magnets? What size speakers did you use?

Not sure if you really even want the pods, but I know a guy posted about them a while back, and he was able to get 6 1/2's into those pods. It may depend on which pod and the actual specs of the 6 1/2's you want.

The pods are a last resort for me. I'd really like to get a box bought or built that would fit between the front and rear seats. It's just wasted space there right now and they'd be out of the way.

I'm worried I'd kick the speaker if I use those pods. And I don't want one of the roof mount ones either. Those tend to top out at 5 1/4" speakers.

Instead of speakers, this is what you seek;

Build yourself a headliner and put whatever size speakers you want into it.

That looks awesome! I'm guessing beyond my DIY abilities though. How did you make it?

It's not hard to build, at least technically anyway, but it did take a bit of time. Built the box for the head unit and the front speakers, then cut a piece of ply to fit into the roof. Into that playwood sheet I made the rear speaker enclosures out of fiberglass. The upholstery was well out of my scope so I had that done by a buddy. From there, mounted the box onto the sheet and mounted the whole thing into the roof. I got the idea from an older thread on this site. A guy had been doing some really cool things to club cars. If you're interested in seeing if it's for you, you can see pictures in my build thread.

By the way, I've never heard that bazooka myself, but I've read more than a couple of posts saying it was really nice.
