Valve replacement lost compression
I have a pre-MCI Robin 295 motor that had 150 PSI in one cylinder, and zero in the second cylinder. I replaced all 4 valves and the seals and now compression is at 60 PSI both cylinders, what am I missing/ what should I check for?

Re: Valve replacement lost compression
Yes that's what I was referring to have you rechecked valve lash?

Re: Valve replacement lost compression
Should I have lapped the valves? Could that cause this problem?

Re: Valve replacement lost compression
Whatever it is, it affected both cylinders, and happened suddenly.
I would say something with the timing belt, or cam. What else is common to both cylinders, and affects compression? |

Re: Valve replacement lost compression
Did you reuse the old head gasket??
torque the head properly? 60 lbs both cylinders, maybe blown head gasket between the 2 cylinders? Even without lapping in the valves it should have more then 60 lbs I would recheck timing belt and timing marks 1st! |
