Looks like we have moved this thread to the proper tech section. First check to see you get power in and out of the Microswitch at the F&R and then on to the solenoid? The solenoid should click when you put it in gear and step on the gas.
DID THE CART WORK BEFORE YOU CHANGED THE BATTS?

Yes, I drove the cart to the place I parked it to take the old batteries out and then went to purchase the new 8v batteries and installed them. Yes, I checked the solenoid and it does click. Across the batteries I'm getting 48v - I'm back home right now the cart is at a camp ground and i won't be able to get back to it until this weekend. Do you have any suggestions for me when i get out there on Sat. morning? thanks for your input.

First are you sure the cable connection are correct and tight? If you only have 48 volts your batterys are dead? You should have around 50-53 volts on fully charged batterys. New batterys require special care and charging to get them up to full power and this takes 10-15 charges to get to full power. This is not to say that you should be able to get your cart to move NOW? How long have the batterys been sitting on the shelf before you bought them? Its also possible that you could have a defective battery as that does happen?
SEE TROJAN BATTERY WEB SITE FOR PROPER CHARGING OF NEW BATTERYS.

Check that all of the little wires are reconnected? Sounds like a simple disconnected wire since you drove it there and took the batteries out?
Double check everything and look for a dangling wire!
If no dangling wire os loose connection then you are gonna need to download a wiring diagram from th etop of this section and start tracing primary ciruit ......
