Default Charger Use Questions

I read somewhere.......maybe on the charger that the correct way to use the charger is to plug the cart end in and THEN plug the 110 volt end in. I've been doing it that way. But, in my cart parking/charging space it's a PITA to do it that way. It would be much easier to leave the charger plugged into 110 volt permanently and then just plug the cart end in to charge. Are there any potential problems if I leave it permanently plugged into 110 volt?

If it matters the charger is a Power Wise 36 volt. The cart is a series, TXT, '96.

Thanks KIX

Plug Charger into a power strip with an on / off switch. Flip it on or off as needed. Get a good one with a lightening arrestor to protect the charger when not in use. This might work for you... Good Luck

The reason to plug the cart in first is this (or use power strip as suggested)...the charger is designed to look for the proper input voltage. Once detected, it waits a few seconds and begins delivery the current needed. The problem is, if you don't have the plug all the way in, or fumbling around after cocktails, you are likely to get some arcing.

there are literally thousands of golf courses worldwide that leave the chargers plugged in to 110 constantly and simply plug the carts in as they come off the course. Rarely is there any problems when doing it this way.
