The yellow wire going to the controller is irrelevant to this test.... Do not test the large wires, test the small wires.... There are two large posts, and two small posts. Put your multimeter on DC voltage 200 and put the red lead on the red wire, and the black lead on the yellow wire. Put the car in forward, key on, and hit the accel. pedal. You should see full battery voltage. If you don't, you've got a bad activation circuit. Try this and give me the results and I'll tell you what to do next.

Should the small yellow wire going from one of the small terminals have power when key is on or only with pedal pressed. Seems this must be my problem, but why would there not be power here?

The yellow wire on the small terminal going from solinoid to controler does not have power with the key on and pedal depressed. When should this wire have voltage and what could cause this to be happening? Thanks to you guys for any help, This is very new to me. I can handle the fabbing and gas engines , but the electrical stuff is kicking my tail.

The small yellow wire should be the negative wire for the solenoid activation circuit. If you do not sense a -48V current at this wire, run a small jumper from that post to the B- post of the controller. Try to run the car at this time. If it runs, replace OBC.
