1998 Electirc Club Car Carryall-
I have a 1998 club car carry all and the reverse doesn't always work. If I move the forward reverse switch back and forth, sometimes it will work, but most of the time not. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: 1998 Electirc Club Car Carryall-
Check the micro switches on back of F&R unit, one is for half speed in reverse, one is for reverse buzzer, and the other is for safety not allowing cart to move if not in one direction or other ( sorry dont remember what order the older carryall carts micro's were placed in ). If they are all in good condition you may need to check contacts inside moveable plate with two 6 gauge cables connected for damage.

No I mean the small micro switches mounted on BATTERY SIDE of LEVER TYPE F&R CONTROL MOUNTED UNDER YOUR RIGHT LEG, ON BACK OF F&R CONTROL. If you have a ROCKER TYPE ELECTRIC SWITCH under your right leg then it is an electric switch controlling a portion of your solid state controller and you will have to check operation of switch as it can be ruined by moisture.

Old Mec,
There are 3 micro switches located on the back of the F&R switch. How can I test them to see if they are bad? |

You can check them for continuity with a multimeter. They are simple on/off switches. If the micros are good, Check your cable connections at the F&R. Is there any sign that any of the cables at the F&R have gotten hot? If yes then check the F&R internal contacts too.

If its real quite around you you should be able to hear click when micro closes. Using meter set on ohms scale at a medium setting and touch on each wire connection from micros while having some one turn F&R lever back and forth. When on you will get a reading and if not micro is bad.
