Also... The intermittent problem of the cart stalling is still happens.
When the cart stalls ----- if I STOP -- and then SLOWLEY press the accelerator until rolling and then quickly go full throttle -- it will go again

--- If I just press the accelerator normally it will jump and then stop --- CLICK CLICK CLICK... Press slowly again and it will roll... then full throttle quickly - it goes as normal ---- If I then DE-celerate I lose all power again---- hmmmm...?
Personally I see 2 seperate problems here.....

#1, that pack voltage for a 42 Volt Western is close to dead. I would bet that under load (pedal depressed) the pack voltage drops below 42 volts.....

#2, You have a bad Pot Box that is failing in the mid range. Replace with a new PB-6 or PB-16

Rabbit could be right ~ How old are those batteries?

Here is the overview of the solenoid below. The one you have looks to be OEM; a little 36v jobber. If it has a tag ..... it will say.

A quick overview of the solenoid is :
The solenoid is a HD on/off switch or Contactor
the connection is made /broken between the 2 large terminals. The 2 small terminals are the activation circuit. typically one terminal will have a constant negative connection to the pack. When Positive power is applied to the second small terminal the contact is drawn up against the spring to make contact. When power from either side of the activation circuit is removed then contact is released and the spring pushes it away interrupting the circuit ...It doesn't matter which small terminal is neg or pos on the activation circuit so long as you have both....
