Default Towing Capability

I just bought a 2000 txt series cart. i have a 1400 lb pop-up camper that has 150 lb tongue weight. i'm thinking about adding a rear hitch on my cart. would it be able to pull the camper in the yard without causing any damage to the cart. i've been using a trailer dolly and doing it by hand but it's getting more difficult on me. any input is appreciated.

As long as the grade is flat it will move it just fine. Start slow and stay slow, and remember to brake EARLY!

Common sense should be your guide.

I use my cart to move my small boat & trailer & jet ski & trailer around in the yard and do not have a problem. From what I understand, stock carts may struggle with towing which will lead to controller over heat and shutdown. I've upgraded my cart to a 500 amp controller- something to think about if you plan to do alot of towing.

thanks for the replies. i'll probably only tow the camper 4-6 times a year and only 300 feet or so. my golf cart does have a rear seat with a foot plate. does anyone have any hitch recommendations for this.

Some companies that make rear seats make hitches, like Strech. Post a pic of your seat, the whole seat, from the side.

I think putting 150 lbs of tounge weight at the end of the rear seat platform may be a little much?

Some carts might wheelie, some won't. Depends on a lot of things happening just so. Care must be taken. 150 pounds isn't so bad. Thats lighter than ME standing on the back edge of the rear step.
