2008 Precedent Light Kit Difference

Why is there a different light kit for the 2007 and earlier and the 2008 and up electric precedent? I have an 08 precedent and know that the batteries in the 07 and older are 12v and there are 6 8v in the 08 and up but why for the more expensive light kit? Are they not identical? Can I take the cheaper 07 and older harness and make it work for the 08 and up model?

The 2007 and back Precedents are pre-wired for the light kits and the 2008 and up are not. The kit is more expensive because youre buying the full wiring kit. So to answer your question, the '07 kit will not work for your cart. Are you planning on doing any mods to the cart? If so please post some pictures, I just bought a Precedent myself and am looking for ideas. Ive so far just installed a light kit and rear seat.
