hot glowing resistor
i recently traded work for an 89 ezgo resistor cart. to the say the least, it need some help. it was missing wires, no solenoid, missing a lug on the f/r switch....it needed some help. i got it rewired thanks to you guys at bgw new f/r switch, new solenoid, a few new wires, now its rolling, but the resistor wires are glowing red(?). also the swiper wire to the solenoid is very hot after being in gear for few seconds. please help if you can. i am new to carts so please bare with me

where did you get the solenoid from, it's not from the auto part store?? |

no, its a 36v white rodgers i found from a cart shop online

Understand, the resistor coils dissipate voltage at all speeds except full stop and wide open throttle. At any other throttle position the coils, based on time the throttle is applied, can and will glow orange to red hot. This is normal operation.
