alright then, I'll replace them. Where do you recommend I buy the batteries, and what brand? I'd prefer to do the work in my garage, although I'm quite mechanically challenged, and I'll most likely replace a few corroded parts while I'm at it.

all six batteries have spent at least ten hours with the car charger (charging two six volt batteries simultaneously with one 12 volt charger) within the last 12 hours. My regular charger that came with the cart, didn't do much good.

Compare prices locally. Since you had such good luck with Trojan, they should be considered even though they cost more.

When it comes to batteries the thing that makes the difference is Amp Hour ratings.... Amps is what the motor burns so amperage capacity is king... often recognized by weight the heaviest battery has the most lead, hence thew largest amperage storage capacity.

In 6v batteries you can have anywhere from 180ah to 225ah per battery.

Manufactures measure amp hours (ah) and rate their batteries.... trouble is there are as many ways to measure amp hours as there are hours in the day ,lol

Here's a link to a battery golf cart comparison in the Stickies at the top of this forum.

Personally, I would go with Trojans if they are available locally (shipping charges will eat you alive)

When you get your new batteries, be sure to charge them fully before you use the cart the first time and be sure to break them in properly to get max performance and run-time.

Also, go to ScottyB's website (Link in his signature block) and read everything he has with "Battery" in the title.

thanks for the info. So far the only batteries I can find locally are Interstate. Trojan batteries are an hour drive away and they won't be in until next Wednesday. I've been reading scotty's website and I'll definitely be careful to break in the batteries properly.
