Default TXT Dash-Rivets

On my 2002 TXT, can I drill out the 7 rivets there in the front and pull the dash assembly out an inch or so to paint the front cowling? Or is it more involved? Trying to not have to mask that strip that goes over the cowling.
Thanks much

Well drill those 7 out, 2 behind the name plate on the front and 2 big ones at the very bottom the entire front cowl comes off!

Colt,
I have the same question. where are the 2 big ones at the bottom?
Also do I have to replace the rivets with OEM rivets?

thanks.

They are located just under the rocker panels, when you remove them you will see it. The seven main ones at the top are like toggles, they split open to hold the cowl on there.

So there are 7 around the outside. 2 for the plate and 2 under the rocker panel(what is rocker panel)?

When you say they like toggles. Is this just a normal rivet?

Some rivets just pull in and the main body just gets a little bigger, others fan out, the rocker panel is the black plastic part on the edge of your cart.

Thanks LostHusker. Does the rocker panel need to be removed?

I am going to switch a 2002 dash and a 2001 dash(it is broken and missing the top left corner). but I have not look into how difficult it will be.

You might be able to, but you might ruin the panel, it would be best to remove it. You can buy a txt rivet package from one of the site sponsors.

Win sorry if this was hijacked, along the same lines though.
