Default 94 ez-go ookay this ain't right

the cart is a 94 with the old wiper switch.never had this happen before. the cart just takes of if you put it in forward or reverse with the key off even if you have no pwer going to the switch. does any one else think it might be a soleniod problem or am i barking up the wrong tree.

Yes, I think your solenoid is either activated all the time or welded closed.

I didn't say to replace it, the problem could be in the activation circuit... you need to disconnect 1/2 of the activation circuit and see if it still goes on it's own ... also if you have a multimeter you can check for constant continuity across the large posts even when 1/2 the activation circuit is removed...

Then you have to address the second problem.
Which is why is the cart running off on it's own?
Just having a solenoid closed does not make the cart go.... you have to have throttle signal input to do that. Your throttle signal input is not returning to ZERO.

Make sure the wiper is all the way at rest. It needs to be all the way down on the last contact are it will pass juice. Make sure the cables haven't melted are touching each other.

I'll post pic of the wiper assembly but there is one cable that comes off the solenoid that feeds the very top throttle post along with one cable that goes to the resister i checked on vintage golf cart and according to the wiring schematic that should not be the only cables on that side go to the resisters

Regular battery cables don't work well on golf carts. Regular battery cable are designed for 12v systems and 30 amp draws. Your golf cart = 36v and 250amps+

the only other resister type cart I've worked on beside cc's was a melex but i know that the wire running from the solenoid to the speed position terminal should not have been there the schematic also did not show that so i just puled it of and everything now works like it should I've had the cart for a couple days bought the proper cables when i got it the problem started before i changed out the cables musta left my brain in the house when i changed the cables because even some one with half a brain would have caught the problem then thanks for all the help
