Default slow cart

non dcs ezgo.when i test the controller i get a max of 24v.both sides of solenoid read the same.it has been this way for years,solenoid clicks when key is turned on.controller or solenoid or both.

make sure your batts are wired correctly. you should have 36+V at the solenoid.

Welcome to BGW.

Sounds like you have what is commonly referred to as a Series Cart (Series wound motor) that has at least two problems.

1. Solenoid clicks when key is turned on: Microswitch in pedal box is bad or maladjusted, or has be bypassed.
2. 24V at solenoid: Somebody stole two of your batteries or one is wired backwards.

it has 24v from the controller when you check from m- terminal to b+.starts off at 0 and goes to 24v at full throttle. it should go to 38v

Misread your original statement, thought you only had 24V at solenoid.

Maxing out at 24V between M- and B+ tells me the throttle input isn't going as high as it ought to, or the controller is malfunctioning.

Depending on the year, your series cart could have a pot-box or ITS throttle, but there are checkout procedures for both floating around here.

i did the test down to checking the orange wire at the reverse switch.it had 38v told me problem is in the reverse circuit.did not tell me what to do from there.

Disconnect the orange wire at the F&R micro switch and test drive the cart.

might have found the problem.i checked the orange wire and found no power. i can play with the shift lever and get power.going to replace the reverse switch.loosened the switch and it seemed to have a littie adjustment tightened it a little and zoom zoom it is full power again. thanks everyone
