Default solenoid question

I have a 48 volt 1995 regen1 with the 2 solenoid and the first one is getting hot and the cart will not run. If u set there for a min it will move again. I had to replace the speed controller with a new style. I am getting ready to take off bc it is bad and is a lot to replace it for no more than what it does. Does anyone know why the solenoid would be getting hot and should I just replace it with a good one to see if that fixes it

The first one is the one that is getting hot then it goes to the second one then goes to a coil. The coil of course gets hot but the solenoid shouldn't

the reagan coil shoud only get really hot when reagan braking is in effect so if that solenoid is hot and coil is really hot it may be going bad............................
