Charging issue after conversion
I'm sure I am probably doing something wrong, but all of the sudden my new dpi 48 V charger is getting hot at the charging receptacle right beside the fuse. On it. It's also reading 19 amps on the charger? Do I even NEED the fuse on top of the charging receptacle? I hooked the negative to the main negative and the positive to the main positive on the pack-what do you think is wrong?

Think maybe my red jumper wire connecting the fuse to the positive is too small? It's what was there before - on 36v

Re: Charging issue after conversion
Could there be alot of resistance in the charge wires? Or a loose connection in the plug / receptacle fit? Everything else is new....

I thought about replacing the connections with new bolts. Do I need that fuse?

YEah, I think you should leave the fuse in. Heat is caused by resistance...bottom line. I would suggest you replace the 8g wire that goes to the main + too.

How heavy, (what gauge), do the wires need to be between the charging receptacle and the pack?

Re: Charging issue after conversion
what kind of conversion? your charge receptical wires should be 10 gage and yes you should leave the fuse on top of receptical.........was this a 36 to 48 volt conversion? if so you should get the fuse they use for 48 volt recepticals its a lot heavier than what is pictured..............................
